18. AMANDA BROWDER

NEW YORK, NY

Spectral Locus (2016) has been installed in the auditorium in in appreciation of all the hard work and support from the citizens of Buffalo, NY. This city-wide, community-driven fabric installation was initially put together by the Albright-Knox Art Gallery's Public Arts Initiative.

Amanda’s projects are additive and subtractive experiences which aim to collaboratively build sculpture with the parallel uniqueness of what is “collaborative.” The artist aims to engage local citizens - wherever the project is taking place - with the conceptual approach of gathering and collecting as a community praxis. The result is not only an aesthetically and technically impressive installation, but a collective sense of accomplishment.
