22. BETHANY KRULL
Our built environment often functions to hold nature at bay by keeping everything wild and unpredictable outside its walls, but what happens inside a building abandoned by its human occupants? The artist's guess is that nature will inevitably reclaim its space.
Bethany is a ceramicist and a teacher. Her fine art practice speaks to the complicated and often contradictory relationships humans maintain with other animals. Her work is at once playful and serious, whimsical and contemplative.
