The artist creates a space where an imagined history of the Medina High School intersects with that of the artist’s own religious and educational indoctrination – one that may likely seem quite familiar to your own experience in a similar environment.
Allen’s work is centered on reconfiguring material and objects so as to transform the frameworks through which they operate. He is a practicing artist and Associate Professor of Art in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Rochester.
