Within the mysterious confines of a janitors closet, the artist creates an urgent call for action. Cataclysmic effects of climate change and related events are devasting. The poignant tableau asks, "do we possess the boldness and ingenuity to act with the required urgency, or will our fate follow that of the canary."


Bethany Krull is a Buffalo based sculptor whose porcelain and mixed media animal sculptures aim to illustrate the complex and often complicated relationship humans maintain with the rest of the natural world. She received her MFA from the School for American Crafts at RIT, and went on to numerous residencies, including Genesse Pottery, The Armory Art Center, Goggleworks Center for the Arts, & the Archie Bray Foundation. Her work has been included in many regional, national and international exhibitions, and is included in numerous prestigious public and private collections. Bethany is the artist responsible for the incredible alligator installation at the foot of the stairwell in PLAY/GROUND 2018.
