The well worn stairwell serves as an ideal setting for a celebration of post consumer materials. In this installation, the artist cultivates these neglected materials, transforming them, and in the process creating an unconventional oasis of light and shadow.


Originally from St Joseph, Missouri, Ani Hoover earned her BFA from Missouri State University and her MFA from American University. Though her early work focused primarily on painting, her more recent focus has expanded to include fiber, sculpture and installations using recycled and unconventional materials. Ani's work has been featured in numerous exhibitions regionally, and nationally, and is included in numerous private and public collections, including, the Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Burchfield Penney Art Center, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, among others
